24 September 2009 - We are pleased to announce that Ecorys has become a knowledge partner for the recently created Urban Investment Network (UIN). The Urban Land Institute (ULI), a non-profit research and education organisation bringing together more than 40,000 private and public actors world wide in the fields of land use and real estate, has launched the UIN initiative in order to address the challenge of increasing investment in Europe's cities.

14 September 2009 - Ecorys has participated in a high-level meeting addressing the crisis in the shipbuilding sector, which took place on September 11 in Bremerhaven, Germany.  The meeting was organised to discuss the current situation in the shipbuilding sector and to evaluate and accentuate the European policy regarding LeaderSHIP 2015.

14 September 2009 - PRESS RELEASE - In July 2009 Ecorys established a new company in Polokwane, South Africa under the name of Ecorys Africa. The Managing Director of Ecorys Africa is Dr Elizabeth Omoluabi. Ecorys has chosen Polokwane, because the Limpopo region, which is located in the North of South Africa, has significant growth potential and is conveniently located for working with clients in Pretoria and Johannesburg and in three of the countries that share a border with South Africa i.e. Mozambique, Botswana and Zimbabwe. This confirms our Africa focus.

19 May 2009 - The book Enhancing the Effectiveness of Innovation – New roles for Key Players has been published. It was edited by Willem Molle, Senior Adviser, Ecorys Research and Consulting and Professor of International Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Julia Djarova, Vice Chair, Ecorys International. The book features contribution from several other Ecorys experts. The official publication date for the US has been fixed for 30th June 2009. The book was published on 30th April 2009 in the UK and the rest of the world.

11 November 2008 - InfoDev (The World Bank) has commissioned Ecorys to conduct in-depth study of the impact of ICT on firm-level innovation in Poland, Russia and the Baltic States. This study assesses the diffusion and impact of ICT at the firm level in both traditional and emerging sectors, and whether and under what conditions have these sectors been successful in harnessing ICT to improve productivity.

As Turkey is a Candidate Country for EU Membership; the EU Acquis, the Instrument for EU thematic policies and EU Funds such as Pre-Accession (IPA) play an important role towards EU accession. In this light it is of utmost importance that civil servants, policy makers in NGOs and private companies engaged in EU policies are well informed about the latest developments and experiences.
