27 October, 2016 - Within the context of the future European energy and climate ambitions, (advanced) biofuels play an important role in the transition towards a competitive low carbon European economy in 2050. The European Commission (DG Research & Innovation) commissioned an Ecorys-led consortium to assess the potential for advanced biofuels in a mid-term (2030) and long-term (2050) perspective, taking into account the role of research and innovation.

15 September, 2016 - Navigation through the Arctic becomes a reality as climate change continues and Arctic ice sheets diminish. As part of the EU funded research project ICE-ARC, Ecorys together with Lancaster University has developed scenarios for shipping through the Arctic. This has implications for emissions like Black Carbon that create feedback loops triggering even faster climate change.

11 August, 2016 - On Saturday, 6 August 2016, the European Commission and Commissioner Věra Jourová took part in their first ever Pride event. Ecorys organised a boat in the Amsterdam Pride Canal Parade (EuroPride) as part of a major LGBTI awareness campaign for DG Justice and Consumers. Commissioner Jourová was joined on the boat by the Maltese Minister for Civil Liberties Helena Dalli and the Head of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency Michael O'Flaherty.

1 August, 2016 - In 2013, the European Commission has contracted Ecorys to conduct a Trade Sustainability Impact Assessment on the future TTIP agreement. The study analyses the potential economic, social, human rights, and environmental impacts of the future agreement. In addition to the overall analyses, the study team has also selected six sectors for in-depth analyses. With the publication of the Interim Report the study team has concluded the interim phase of the study.

28 July, 2016 - The European Commission, DG Environment, is currently carrying out  a public consultation in support of the mid-term evaluation of the LIFE programme. Ecorys is contracted to provide an independent and external evaluation of their LIFE Programme, which supports projects in the field of Environment, Nature and Climate action. The ongoing public consultation is the opportunity to express your opinion on the need for support at EU level for projects in a number of priority areas and input will be used as important input in the LIFE Programme evaluation.

15-7-2016 - On behalf of the European Commission, Ecorys will conduct a study to provide insight into the administrative formalities imposed by Member States on service providers intending to operate cross-border in the EU, and the associated costs for companies. The study covers 17 countries within the European Union and will be finished by the end of October 2016.

7 July, 2016 - UNICEF recently published an alarming press release, stating that almost 1 million children are facing “severe acute malnutrition” in Eastern and Southern Africa due to the extreme weather conditions caused by one of the most powerful El Niño events in the past 50 years. Ecorys is commissioned by UNICEF to conduct National Political Economy Analyses and Fiscal Space Profiles of 17 countries in the Eastern and Southern Africa Region.

7 July, 2016 - Ecorys has been commissioned a project by the European Commission for managing the EU Info Centre in Skopje and supporting the EU Delegation in Skopje for organising EU related events, such as seminars, debates, roundtables, and press conferences. The project started in July 2016 and it is expected to finish in July 2017. Ecorys SEE is a lead partner and Ecorys NL, Ecorys PL, and Futura 2/2 Macedonia will collaborate together towards achieving the common goal.
