Academic Networking

Ecorys Research

At Ecorys, we believe that it is important to remain at the frontier of knowledge especially when it comes to methodological rigor and underpinning of our project work. Some tools and techniques are too complex to carry out in-house, and it is also challenging to keep updated on each and every peer-reviewed publication in the socio-economic field. That is why Ecorys is proud to have very good working relationships with and work with the best professors and universities in the world. Our academic network takes on several forms:

  • Thanks to the Foundation NEI, Ecorys is able to fund two special University chairs.
    • A professorship at the VU Amsterdam, chaired by Prof. dr. Henri de Groot; and
    • A professorship at Erasmus University Rotterdam, chaired by Prof. dr. Gail Whiteman;
  • Ecorys works with a small circle of top professors (some as associate experts) in various core fields where – especially – quantitative inputs are valued. These include, among others, Prof. dr. Joe Francois, Prof. dr. Jeffrey Bergstrand, and Prof. dr. Charles van Marrewijk, Prof. dr. Marcelo Olarreaga, and Prof. dr. Chris Boehringer.
  • Academic partners – either institutional or individual – are often included in project teams.
  • Through the Ecorys Research Programme we engage with top researchers to develop new methodologies and approaches that are interesting in two ways: to get publish academic (peer-reviewed) publications, and to contribute to the strategic strength of Ecorys.
